Comments: We’re holding our shop’s annual FCBD event and we definitely want to have a strong Star Wars presence for May The Fourth! We’ll have some hundreds of attendees coming to pick up free comics and to donate food for our annual food drive. Last year we collected an estimated $8,000 worth of food for the Alameda County Food Bank. We have long lines stretching around the store for most of the day, so we’d love to have two characters to engage with them, pose for pictures, etc.
In terms of logistics, we have a basement with a locked door which has plenty of room to store costume trunks and change. It’s downstairs, but it is accessible via an elevator. There’s also a parking structure kitty corner from the shop that has free parking on Saturdays.
We collaborate with Sacred Tattoo, a few blocks away from our shop, to offer free comics themed tattoos for folks who donate $30 or more to our food drive. This year the tattoo artists will have an additional sheet of Star Wars flash designs to offer! We’d love to get an additional character or two over at Sacred, but I wasn’t sure if they would need to submit a separate request for additional characters. If so, we can get that request submitted ASAP!

One last additional note! Any troopers who volunteer for our event at the comic shop and tattoo shop are welcome to get a free Star Wars flash tattoo. Usually we take a $30 food donation in exchange for the free tattoo, but for May the 4th we’re happy to provide for a 501st member to get one!
Once we have the full sheet of flash designs I’ll send them over!
