**Update**

Update…
The Mini Maker Faire will be going on at the same time as the Solano County Fair this year, The Fair itself is Free to the public, the Mini Maker Faire is $6 to get in, Which I’m assuming we are staged in one of the convention Halls.

So I think it would be best If we stay within the convention hall and not Patrol out in the public Fair unless Maker Faire request us too.

    Hello Makers, Presenters and Performers!
This weekend is the Solano County Mini Maker Faire, and we want to make sure you are clear about load-in and logistics. There is good info for everyone – Makers, Presenters, Workshop Participants, and Performers – so please give it a read.

YOUR MAKER NUMBER IS 100 / We are Inside / 10×20 Space

    LOAD IN TIMING
Saturday 7:30 am to 9:30 am. VEHICLES NOT PART OF YOUR EXHIBIT MUST BE OUT OF GATE BY 9:30 a.m. The EXPO hall will be locked on Saturday night and patrolled by security. If you need to load in on Friday or need extra time on Saturday morning and have not already made arrangements with us please let us know ASAP.

MAKER CHECK-IN – You will need your Maker Number (100) to check in.

Maker Check-In will be at the entrance of the EXPO hall located inside Solano County Fairgrounds. Come early to avoid stress and long lines at Maker Check In. At Maker Check In, you will receive up to four Maker credentials for you and your crew and will be directed to your setup area. Anyone other than you (the original applicant) must be present at the time of check-in to receive their credentials and get into the faire without buying a ticket. Please email makerfaire@beniciamakerspace.com if you need to pick up passes before Satuday to distribute to your crew. You can also meet crew members in front of the EXPO hall and hand them their passes if they arrive after check-in.

    PARKING
We have reserved free maker parking in the fairgrounds lot. We are still waiting on parking passes from the fairgrounds, so be looking for a separate email from us in the next few days with that information.

HOW DO I FIND MY SPACE?
Once you check in you will be shown where your space is. If you need help just ask at Maker Check-in or a volunteer.

PRESENTERS / LATE MAKER CHECK IN
Maker Check In will be open in the morning until 10am. If you come late just check in at the ticket counter. If you have supplies to load in midday, consider bringing a handcart since you will not be allowed to drive on the fairgrounds after 9:30am. Please make sure you have sufficient time to park, check in and get to your venue 30 minutes prior to your presentation/performance.

    MAKER WiFi
If you indicated the need for internet on your application, a WiFi network will be available for your use during the Maker Faire. Details will be provided when you check in.

    MAKER LUNCH
We will provide a small lunch and/or snacks for Makers and Volunteers around noon each day.

WHAT SHOULD I BE BRINGING AGAIN?
    • Extension cord(s) if you will be using power.
    • Tables & Chairs** for your exhibit if you indicated you would be bringing them. Tablecloths if you want to make it pretty.
    • Sunshade if you indicated you wanted to be outside, and you would like shade. Don’t forget sandbags or weights to hold things down.
    • Signage & display (though we will provide you with an 11×17 Maker Sign).
    • Water and Snacks to keep you going
** If you requested “help with a table and chairs” on your Maker Application (and we have not had additional communication with you), one 8 foot table and 2 chairs will be available for your use. Please plan to bring any additional chairs or other items you desire.

    LOADOUT TIMING
Tear down begins after 6 pm on Sunday – Makers must stay active and not break down until 5:30 pm. All exhibits must be intact and open to the public until that time. Exhibits must be removed by 8 pm on Sunday night. Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the grounds until the public has vacated the grounds and it is safe to do so.

    PARKING
When you arrive at the fairgrounds, stop at the parking booth and tell them you are exhibiting at the Maker Faire. You will also need to give them your MAKER NUMBER (100) and they will give you a parking pass. There are multiple parking passes for each maker number in case you have multiple vehicles to park. The parking pass has two parts, one for each day. The parking attendants will direct you to the maker parking area which is close to the Expo Hall for unloading and provides further access if you need to bring your vehicle into the setup area. Once you have parked, please check in before you drive into the setup area.
