Comments: The 26th annual Pistahan Parade and Festival, a celebration of Filipino community, culture and cuisine, takes place on August 10-11, 2019. The Grand Parade kicks off the festivities on Saturday, August 10 at 11am with elaborate floats, cultural dance groups, marching bands and colorful contingents marching up Market St from Civic Center to 4th Street. The 2-day outdoor festival at the Yerba Buena Gardens is a showcase of world-class entertainment highlighting contemporary and traditional music, dance and performances. A trade expo offers products unique to the Philippines, including books, jewelry, apparel, home decor and unique products created from mother of pearl, bamboo, coconut, mahogany, pineapple fiber and more. And of course, stay for the delicious Filipino food – pancit, lumpia, lechon, adobo, BBQ, halo-halo and other regional specialties! Quench your thirst at the Pistahan Tavern and sample refreshing beverages including San Miguel Beer, wines made by Filipino wineries and ‘lambanog” (Philippine moonshine), and Hard Fresco. In addition, the festival has organized 7 interactive pavilions celebrating Philippine culture and traditions: Art, Culinary, Dance, Sports, Health, Innovation and Leadership for a memorable and immersive cultural experience. FREE admission and fun for the entire family!
