There are no issues with helmets and blasters. For security we would assign you a liaison. Teenagers run the event on the day of so they would have a red vest and a radio if there are any issues. We train them in event management. I (Michelle) will be present however if there are any issues beyond their capabilities.
Comments: This is a county sponsored free event for the children of the unincorporated area. It’s Star Wars theme this year with a Jedi training zone and secret rebel base. Many of the kids in this area are lower incomes and cannot afford to travel to Disneyland. The event usually has 500-800 kids and has a parade from 10-1030 behind our local fire engine. Then a games and costume contest where the kids and families can win prizes. Everyone chips in to make this event happen. It’s a community partnership event with fire, sheriffs, alameda county, chamber of commerce, homes association, library and school board. We do what we can with what we have. This year the theme is Star Wars so we thought we could use your help. Make it fun for the kids. Create lifetime memories.
