1/12-1/16 ‘Words of Thanks for Ira’ Video Troop

Ira Keeler, honorary member of the Golden Gate Garrison, worked at ILM as a model maker and other LucasFilms projects, and designed the Biker Scout helmet, is not doing well health wise and a few words of thanks for his dedication to Star Wars would cheer him up.

Please record yourself in costume (all costumes are invited but if you have a biker scout, we request you use that costume) saying some words of thanks to Ira, if you have biker scout helmet (Pathfinder or Shadowscout) and would like to be out of costume and holding your bucket is okay too) or holding up one of these signs:

Videos should be filmed horizontally and in good lighting.

Participating in this troop will count as an official troop and count towards your census. Not all submitted contact may be used, but will still be counted toward as a TOD.

To get credit, you’ll need to suit up in your appropriate costume(s) and post video, rename video with your name and ID, in this folder by 1/16/2021:

TROOP TIPS

– Wear your full approved costume as you would in normal troops

– Be safe when taking your photos/videos and avoid dangerous stunts

– Set a good example and maintain social distancing.

Don’t

– No brandishing or pointing weapons toward the camera.

– Target/mock any groups of people, even if meant as a joke

– Take your buckets off or do anything else outside the CRL.

– Gather with fellow troopers to do a joint shoot (remember social distancing)

Remember, even at home, we are still the proud 501st Legion. We are still representing the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, birthplace of Star Wars, home of Lucasfilm, and the golden gateway to the Empire itself.

To sign up with a costume, click on the drop down menu under spaces and select 2. Then there will be a costume type drop down menu for your costume. Select your costume then click on the drop down menu under spaces again, and select 1.
