Comments: CCG has invited us to attend their event. This is a Monday Memorial Day event. We have been requested to appear at the Castle Air Force base museum for their Open Cockpit Day which is a fundraiser for the museum. The museum will open 40-45 (they have 70 on site) of the aircraft for walk thru viewing or platform viewing of the smaller cockpits. Former pilots and maintenance personal are available to talk about the planes they once operated. Aircraft include historical planes from WW2 thru the SR71 Blackbird and a Presidential VC9. A very family-oriented day of historical fun!! Gate opens at 9-4. We have been a great addition to this event as the staff and public love us!! Lots of great interactions and pictures to be had. This has become a great yearly event for the Garrison !! Appearance time will be 0900-1200 we may go longer as the event is all day. Last year we came and went throughout the day. Wonder the grounds or stick close to the booth it’s your choice. As with the last event, Covid restrictions, depending on the tier we are in, will be in effect. You are free to roam and explore after the appearance. All characters welcome no cap on numbers, handlers too. We will have to bring our own drinks and snacks. There are a lot of food trucks and vendors. There also is a special tour available at the project’s hanger. Lots of very unique items.
