Handlers (update 1/17/22): We will only be allowed a couple non-costume handlers for this event. For any extra handlers: we will need help with tent setup/breakdown and moving of bins.
(Update 2/1/22) There will be a parade handler call Sat Feb 5 for all interested in attending as a Handler. Between all the clubs we are able to have 10 handlers walk in the parade. 4 handlers will come from GGG, 3 from Endor Base and 3 from Mandalorian Mercs. Any additional handlers will be assisting with other functions. All handlers from all clubs are invited to attend the call for parade specific info. This call will also be recorded and available for those who are unable to attend. This is a handler call ONLY. Please refer to VIRTUAL OPS Orders Zoom Call for more Parade specific info.

—–UPDATES FROM EVENT REQUESTER—–

a. Our request is to have participants march in our parade which will be live-telecast (locally), and live-streamed via KTVU and Facebook Live (nationally and internationally).
b. It is an evening time parade. Our goal is to share the rich Chinese culture with all, and be inclusive. This parade is the largest Chinese New Year parade outside of China and is the second oldest said parade in the US. There are university and high school bands, floats, martial arts groups, and cultural-themed units.
c. Photo opportunities and parade goer interaction. This is an outdoor event open to the public. Any character requested with limit up to 200. Invited: all California 501st garrisons, rebel legion bases, MMCC clubs, and local saber guild. This will be an inaugural event for the troopers to participate in and hopefully a tradition.
d. No blasters; light sabers ok; helmets ok;

Comments

  1. Brian Hasik

    I’m available for handling and transport for north bay folks if need be. If it’s of any use, I have a shorty Sprinter van that I can drive down. We can stuff a lot of bins in it.

  2. Chuck Marshall

    Event Coordinator, due to Covid related issues, I’d like to recind my ticket as Darth Maul and put my name in for Beskar Din Djarin. If other Din’s sign up, that’s great, and I can act in another role to support the team. Thanks!

      1. Gregory Miller

        Yes, and I’ve trooped with Stacy in the past, before WonderCon moved to LA. Looking forward to this, one of my co-workers has seen the parade in the past. LIkely going to get a hotel at Union Square with expensive parking and get there as early as possible Saturday AM, must leave Oregon about 3AM.

  3. Amy Young

    I’ll be there primarily supporting Endor, but can also help GGG members dress. I will not be walking. I will be staying at the changing area.
