Event Name: Shine a Light NF Walk – Bay Area [Virtual Troop]

Comments: The Shine a Light NF Walk is a fundraising event to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation and help end NF. Neurofibromatosis, or NF, affects millions of people worldwide, but few have heard of it and there currently is no cure. The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the millions living with neurofibromatosis (NF). NF is a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body and can lead to cancer, blindness, bone abnormalities, deafness, disfigurement, learning disabilities, and excruciating and disabling pain. NF affects one in every 3,000 people, which is more than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and Huntington’s disease combined. CTF’s mission is to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for the NF community.

To get credit, you’ll need to suit up in your armor/uniform, rename the video with your name and ID, upload to the submission folder by 10/04/21.

TROOP TIPS

Do

– Wear your full approved costume as you would in normal troops

– Be safe when taking your photos/videos and avoid dangerous stunts

– Set a good example and maintain social distancing.

Don’t

– No brandishing or pointing weapons toward the camera.

– Target/mock any groups of people, even if meant as a joke

– Take your buckets off or do anything else outside the CRL.

– Gather with fellow troopers to do a joint shoot (remember social distancing) unless in the same family

Remember, even at home, we are still the proud 501st Legion. We are still representing the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California, birthplace of Star Wars, home of Lucasfilm, and the golden gateway to the Empire itself.
