Braxton is a 5 year old energetic middle son with a huge heart. He loves to be outdoors whether it’s bouncing on the trampoline in the backyard with his brothers, climbing at the park, or just running wild and carefree. Braxton’s two obsessions are babies and video games. He was recently diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder, HLH XLP2, and will be needing a bone marrow transplant to finally be healthy.
Be The Match has teamed up with Braxton’s family to invite the community to join the Be The Match Registry in honor of Braxton and all searching patients find their match.
Joining is simple and takes less than 10 minutes – fill out a form and swab your cheek. Once you join, you stay on the registry until you are 61 and are called to donate only if you are the best match for a patient. For the patients we serve, transplant is their best or only chance for survival and most people don’t realize they have the power to be that patient’s cure.

Two years ago Jack Yankee from Sonoma County was diagnosed with the same blood disease. After a long journey he is now a thriving three year old! Jack and his mother Madeline will join the event to bring support to the Richey family.
