Comments: Rotary is a worldwide non-profit community service organization that has been in existence for more than 110 years.

The Castro Rotary club will be the first LGBT Rotary Club in the world when we receive our charter later this month. We will then have an event Sunday March 25 beginning at 5 pm to announce our club to the community, and welcome fellow Rotarians from all the San Francisco districts, as well as local leaders in the LGBT community to come and learn about our club, and about our plans for community service and outreach in the Castro district.

To make the event as engaging and fun for everyone involved I thought it would be wonderful to have some 501st make an appearance, as you know there are a lot of Star Wars fans here! It would bring some youthful fun to the event, and make it more memorable for all involved. And the more buzz our club has, the more outreach we can accomplish to solve community problems and provide humanitarian aid.

We would only need an appearance for about 30 – 45 minutes, just enough time for people to get excited and take some pictures and selfies. Perhaps the Stormtroopers could even flank our new club president as she makes a speech or something, that might be fun!
