Please briefly describe the event: The NBSDD, now in its 9th year, is a major event in the North Bay calendar. It is designed to excite children about the fun that can be found in activities involving STEM (science, technology, engineering, math). Our target audience is kids from 4th through 8th grade from all North Bay counties. We typically have around 100 exhibits embracing our main objective. The exhibitors include large and small businesses, science departments of local colleges, student science clubs from local high schools and colleges, nonprofit environmental and conservation organizations, and government organizations like the National Forest Service, etc. Each exhibitor provides some type of hands-on activity for the kids. In the last few years the one-day event has drawn in excess of 10,000 visitors. The event is entirely free. Exhibitors may not sell anything or solicit donations, so that no child or family will feel pressured or left out. The organizing committee of our event is all volunteers, i.e., no paid staff.

How did you hear about us?: Word of mouth. Last year six members of the 501st attended our event in costume and were a major hit. Given the size of our audience and the layout of our event (including exhibits in 5 buildings plus outdoor spaces, we would be very happy if 10 or so of your members attended.
