Comments:

We host a Spina Bifida networking party twice a year in the VSC Basement. We can have anywhere from 50-100 pts and families. It’s very unpredictable how many people show up. We provide food, crafts, and raffle gifts. We usually have our character visitors roam around the room for about 1 hour. So what may happen is, people start showing up around 11:30 and grab lunch. The characters then can start coming around noon. We’ll probably start our raffle around 12:45- 1. Most pts/families leave after the raffle is done. You can stay up to the raffle or through raffle. Sometimes I have the characters help out with pulling the numbers for the raffle.

I can offer my rehab clinic exam rooms on the 1st floor as the changing rooms. Handlers are welcome to come and attend. We don’t have any specific request in terms of number of characters, but 2-5 may be good since we do have pts in wheelchairs and big families, and it could get a bit tight to move around the room if more show up although we have had 8 Heroes come in the past.

Please NO LATEX just in case as a few of our pts have Latex allergy. NO BLASTERS as we are a county facility and weapons of any kind are not allowed on county property.

Thank you so much for your help. Because it’s a Halloween theme event, it will be great to have characters come.
